MNEMOSINE human digital heritage

Let us recall briefly the purposes of the Mnemosine project, for a better understanding of its approach.

The purposes of this project is to set on an operational framework to tackle questions related to the Human Digital Heritage. Our vision is that the many questions raised by this topic are various aspects of ethical concerns.

Accordingly, we adopted a "top-to-bottom" approach:

• First identify pertinent ethical values, and build a structure based over. This structure is the NPO Mnemosine.
• These values have to be seen as a set of requirements (UDHDR compliancy) that have to be fulfilled by any information system managing, using or exploiting personal data of Mnemosine members.
• Finally, we have to propose a structure able to host, manage, maintain and make evolve these values in the long term, because this project targets transgenerational period of time.

Accordingly to this approach, the Mnemosine project consists in two parts:

1. A research part in the field of computer science. It consists to define a data hosting / cloud computing system that is UDHDR compliant. We are looking for partners to develop these aspects. Pertinent partners could be public research entities, as well as digital economy players in the field of cloud computing / data hosting, but also public institutions which mission includes national or international patrimony archives.
2. A structural part. It consists to set on a perenial structure able to host such services. We provide a first analysis of the structures to be created. Accordingly to this analysis, we are looking are looking for partners willing to help us, as well as investors.
