Computer science is a constantly moving field. Nowadays, it seems that a data hosting / cloud computing solution could be compatible with a text as the UDHDR, depending on some adaptation.
Managing personal data requires some kind of regulation. We propose to constrain every information system managing the personal data of Mnemosine members to be UDHDR compliant (Universal Declaration of Human Digital Rights).
An information system that is UDHDR compliant owns some specificity. Here are for instance some aspects :
- A unique digital account for each individuals. It means a strong identification system. This is not incompatible with anonymous and private life.
- Granting rights to access personal data must be masterized by individuals. It means that individuals must be the only admin of their account.
- The user is free to have access to a perenial data hosting service over all or part of its data. The user is free to migrate its data to another UDHDN compliant system.
- An access to any corporate or institutions that are willing to propose services to individuals using their data, through a secured API.
- Proposing a full management of the life cycle of individuals contents, from their early conception to their transmission and post mortem conservation.
- The structure managing the information system must be democratically ruled out.
- Without any discrimination, any user can monetize his digital space.
At our knowledge, it exists no structure fulfilling all these points. Thus, one of the aspect of the Mnemosine project is to propose a first, open and standardized information system reaching UDHDR compliancy.
